I have lived in East Grinstead for quite a while, and have attended numerous art classes in most media.   I then decided to try Pastel Painting three years ago and have been slowly making progress, with a lot of help from Harriet out art teacher who has shown me many new pastel techniques.

I have been going to watercolour and drawing classed for the past two years, I recently went to a demonstration of pastel painting. I was so enthralled and fascinated by the different ways you could use  pastel, I decided to join the pastel painting class . I am thoroughly enjoying the class.  The paintings shown are my first efforts using pastels.

	Joan's most wonderful dove, the colours are amazing, it looks very real.

I have tried my hand at watercolours and oils over the years but in Harriet's pastel class I seem to have found my forte.  I have attended for three years and still need her patient guidance but I seem to be getting the hang of it- even if I still have a reprehensible tendency towards brown !

At least I didn't have to wait for my picture to dry and if I make a mistake I can disguise it by colouring over the top.
