After several years of trying to raise my enthusiasm I art by taking various courses ( botanical art, illustration, miniatures) I cam across pastels and my life was transformed. No longer was I afraid of using colour.  Harriet has taught me to go further in it's appreciation by encouraging the use of "unreal" colour.  Now 'realism' is unreal to me.

It was a logical step to go from pastels to water soluble oils.   Magic !

I have painted on and off for many years and still find it absorbing, interesting and fun.  I like to work with a tutor alongside others  for constructive criticism, support and mutual encouragement.  There is so much more to learn.  I like studying the work of great artists and this enriches my visits to galleries and exhibitions, and also helps my greater understanding of modern art. Painting helps me to appreciate light and  colour of the visual world.

Most of all I enjoy the wonderful art of applying paint, using colour and form to images.
