Having lived in East Grinstead for the past forty years, I suppose I have met most of the Adult Education tutors and have attended many classes in drawing, watercolour and oil painting.  There was a long gap when I was looking after my husband but after his death I wanted to attend classes again.

I had seen Harriet's classes advertised in the East Grinstead library and some of the students work in pastel was on show, so I decided to enrol for pastels and watercolour.

Recently we have been using water-based oil and have been producing pictures in the style of Magritte, Georgia O'Keeffe, Edward Hopper and Monet.  I had never worked on large canvasses before so all this has been a new experience.

After years of floundering around with tutors who allowed me to do my own thing, I met Harriet and my direction changed altogether.  Inspired by modern painters we produced pictures of a better standard than ever before after the style of Klimt, Magritte, Rousseau, O'Keeffe, Hopper, Turner and Monet.
