For many years I said "When I retire I want to learn how to paint watercolours", - so 5 years ago I joined Harriet's class.

Since then it has diversified into the use of other media and I am really pleased at how much I have learnt and surprised that I that I think the best picture to date is in water-based oils- not watercolour

Before this class, I hadn't done any art since I was at school.  However every Thursday morning I now have a chance to dabble in pencil drawing, watercolours, gouache , pastels and water-based oils.  I really enjoyed using the different mediums, taking as inspiration the painting styles of famous artists such as Hopper, Monet, O'Keeffe , Klimt, Mondriaan to name but a few.

I have been learning to paint with Harriet for 4 years and have experienced an amazing range of techniques including painting in diverse styles of famous artists such as Klimt and Monet!  The core students in my class used watercolours initially then as we became more proficient progressed to gouache and water soluble oils. 
I have a supportive husband, 3 delightful children under 16 with busy schedules and work part-time as a personal assistant and art with Harriet is total escapism!  She is such fun to be with and every lesson is exciting as well as demanding!
