Two years ago, when the circumstances of my husband's illness meant I spent most days  "housebound", I bought myself a small paint box and a sketch pad to help me while away the hours.  Later when I was free to go out, I joined Harriet's General Art class as part of my readjustment.   I have learned firstly that I do not have a natural talent, but because of Harriet's enthusiasm and encouragement and the kindness of my fellow pupils , I have come to enjoy my Wednesday morning classes - despite still struggling with the challenge of negative painting, so although still a total novice, I intend continuing my learning curve with pleasure and a little frustration.

I am very much a newcomer to Harriet Brigdale's class and a novice at watercolour painting .

I find the techniques difficult but Harriet is a very talented and stimulating teacher. I look forward to learning more. Especially our next project - oils.  We also have very cordial fellow students.
